Skyya Communications Wins 'Best Industry Campaign of the Year for Consumer Products' for Re-Launch of Iconic Indian Motorcycle Brand

Recognized by Minnesota Public Relations Society of America, Skyya Also Awarded Top Honors for 'Best New Product Campaign'

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2014) - Skyya Communications, a high-touch boutique strategic communications agency with a fresh and innovative approach to serving the public relations and marketing needs of businesses ranging from stealth start-ups to challenger brands and global public companies, today announced that the Agency has been awarded two prestigious awards by the Minnesota Public Relations Society of America (PRSA); "Best Industry Campaign of the Year for Consumer Products" and "Best New Product Campaign with Budget over $100,000." Both awards recognize Skyya for its campaign to re-launch the Indian Motorcycle brand in 2013 on behalf of Polaris Industries, Inc. Skyya, a Minneapolis-based, award-winning agency with offices in New York City and Los Angeles, received top honors over finalists consisting of several of Minnesota's largest global agencies during the PRSA's 36th Annual Classics Award ceremony held on April 3.

Skyya re-launched Indian Motorcycle, America's first motorcycle company, under the new stewardship of Polaris Industries after 53 years of being dormant. The initial campaign culminated in August 2013 with the highly anticipated unveiling of three all-new Indian Motorcycle models, bringing choice back to the American motorcycling scene. The Indian Motorcycle campaign was a fusion of heritage and modern elements. Preceding the launch, Skyya worked with the Indian Motorcycle team to craft a nine-month "tease" campaign based on evolving engineering and marketing milestones. Significant results achieved included more than two billion unpaid media impressions in top-tier national business publications, consumer press, men's outlets, automotive press, and local and lifestyle publications; TV appearances, a steady drumbeat of special events and press releases, and a favorable product review campaign.

"A Classics Award from the Minnesota PRSA represents the pinnacle of success and recognition among PR practitioners in the state of Minnesota. To be honored with two of the program's top campaign awards in competition with several of the industry's largest agencies is humbling," said Derek Peterson, Managing Partner at Skyya Communications. "We are proud to have been chosen by Polaris Industries and the Indian Motorcycle team to lead the PR efforts for the historic rebirth of one America's most iconic brands. This is a collective win for Skyya and Indian Motorcycle and I am proud of the team for their hard work and dedication in achieving such unprecedented success."

The Minnesota PRSA Classics Awards recognize outstanding individual components, tactics of programs, or campaigns that incorporate sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. The awards are divided into two distinct categories: elements and programs. Classics Element Awards honor the best tactics of a program, while Classics Program Awards honor the best public relations campaigns. Since 1978, the Minnesota PRSA Classics Awards have recognized hundreds of organizations for excellence in public relations. The Classics are presented annually to public relations practitioners who, in the judgment of their peers, have successfully addressed a communications challenge with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness.
