Exterro Adds Ringtail(R) Connector to Streamline In-House E-Discovery Management

Integration of Exterro Fusion® With FTI Technology's Ringtail e-Discovery Software Strengthens Complete Corporate e-Discovery Workflow, From Preservation Through Production

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - May 28, 2014) - Exterro Inc., the preferred provider of software specifically designed for in-house legal and IT teams at global 2000 organizations, today unveiled its connector to FTI Technology's award-winning Ringtail® e-discovery software. Exterro's new connector eliminates the need to manually create export files and metadata formats, allowing in-house legal teams to automatically upload large amounts of data for legal review into Ringtail after conducting preservation, legal hold and collection with the advanced Exterro Fusion® e-discovery software suite.

This new, two-way integration lets in-house teams seamlessly and cost-effectively transition from Exterro Fusion to Ringtail and maintain complete visibility across all e-discovery phases. Exterro's clients can now generate optimized Ringtail load files for larger cases and incremental updates to a matter. This substantially reduces risk by eliminating the manual creation of load files and ensures all relevant data is automatically imported from the collection into the review platform. The new connector also allows initial coding and tagging done in Exterro Fusion to be transferred into Ringtail as part of the data load, allowing clients to focus on key custodians and issues early on in-house before an extensive review is conducted.

"Many of our corporate clients today manage routine preservation and collection tasks in-house then turn to FTI Technology to provide a secure, managed solution for analysis, review and production," said Mike Kinnaman, senior managing director at FTI Technology. "Our most recent Advice From Counsel study validated this trend, finding that among Fortune 1000 respondents, 80 percent relied on outsourced relationships for review and production. The Exterro connector for Ringtail makes it easy for corporate clients to transition in-house e-discovery projects from preservation and collection to review and production."

FTI Technology and Exterro share clients in industry segments that experience high volumes of e-discovery projects ranging in size and complexity, including global finance, life sciences and insurance. Many of these organizations handle large and medium-sized cases in-house, bringing in outside experts and resources as matters escalate. Both Exterro and FTI offer flexible deployment options and hosted services to meet clients' varying resource and technology needs.

"Ringtail is known for its sophisticated analytics and ability to handle high-volume, complex e-discovery reviews encountered by large corporations," said James FitzGerald, senior director of strategic alliances at Exterro. "This integration empowers corporate legal teams with rapid access to documents for analysis, avoiding the arduous process of manually creating load files for review. We look forward to working with FTI Technology to further ease the burden of e-discovery and help existing and new large corporate clients efficiently navigate the entire process."
