Gilbert Resident Claims $1.1 Million The Pick(TM) Jackpot Winning Ticket

Third Top Prize Winning Ticket for Arizona's Own Jackpot Game in Two Weeks


PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Jul 7, 2014) - The Arizona Lottery announces the winning ticket for the $1.1 million The Pick jackpot for the drawing on Saturday, July 5, has been claimed.

The winner, who wants to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at the Fry's Food Store located at 6470 S. Higley Road in Gilbert as part of a Trio!™ Quick Pick® from a Lottery vending machine. Trio! consists of one Quick Pick ticket for Powerball®, Mega Millions® and The Pick™.

The winner selected the cash option of $687,500 before taxes. Since the winner's birthday is this week, she said this has turned out to be a wonderful birthday present. The winner plans to pay off some bills and invest in some business ideas she's wanted to try.

"It was a fantastic early birthday present to the latest winner of Arizona's own jackpot game," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products and communications for the Arizona Lottery. "It's exciting that Arizona has had three The Pick jackpot winners since June 25, we look forward to more winners in the future."

The next drawing for The Pick is Wednesday, July 9, for an estimated $1 million jackpot. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer.
