Planning Professionals Gather to Promote Healthy Communities at Canadian Institute of Planners' National Conference

FREDERICTON, Canada, July 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Professional planners from across Canada will be gathering at the CIP | API People Matter Conference from July 9 to 12, 2014 in Fredericton to explore the tools and strategies planners, health professionals, and municipal representatives can use to create vibrant and healthy communities from coast to coast.

The conference, hosted by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and the Atlantic Planners Institute (API), is taking place:

The Canadian Institute of Planners 2014 Award Ceremony on July 10 at 3:30 p.m. celebrating the best in contemporary Canadian planning. Of local importance, the 1946 Saint John Master Plan will receive CIP's Vision in Planning Award.

Sight-seeing tours of the places honoured in CIP's Great Places in Canada contest, including the McAdam Railway Station (2013 People's Choice – Public Space), Queen Street (2012 Great Street), and Saint John City Market (2013 Great Public Space).

The plaque presentation for the Saint John City Market will be held on-site, July 10 at 1:30 p.m.
