NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jul 14, 2014) - China Telecom Corp. leads the 2014 All-Asia Executive Team, Institutional Investor's fourth annual ranking of the region's corporate leaders as seen through the eyes of investment professionals.

The Beijing-based telecommunications services provider captures first place in all eight categories in which it is eligible to compete and also scores a couple of second-place spots, for a total of ten ranked positions in the Telecommunications sector.
Lenovo Group is the only other company to claim first place in every category in its sector (Technology/Hardware). The computer and tablet maker, which is also headquartered in Beijing, lands in second place overall.
Hong Kong-based insurer AIA Group is No. 3, followed by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. India's Tata Consultancy Services rounds out the top five.
II asks buy-side analysts, money managers and sell-side researchers at securities firms and financial institutions that cover the region -- including those who cast and received votes in this year's All-Asia Research Team survey -- to name the best chief executive officers, chief financial officers and investor relations professionals at the companies in their coverage universes.
We also invite them to identify up to four companies that excel in each of eight IR attributes, including providing access to senior management, financial transparency and disclosure, and so on.
The 2014 All-Asia Executive Team reflects the opinions of more than 860 buy-side analysts and money managers at nearly 520 firms that collectively manage an estimated $1.04 trillion in Asian (ex-Japanese) equities and of 659 analysts at 94 brokerages.
