Connect&GO in the Midst of Revolutionising Events

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - July 29, 2014) - During this year's international business conference C2MTL, Connect&GO launched its latest innovation: a 'contactless' access control and crowd monitoring system.

During the event, the new C&G Access 'platform' sped up the entrance rate, instantly validating badges and monitoring crowd flow without any human intervention, neither from the staff nor from the attendees. Real-time analytics were forwarded to the event organizers allowing for immediate resource allocation, instant visibility over conference session participation and safety control in overcrowded areas. Arguably, it's the world's first fully contactless access control system to be deployed successfully.

Using passive UHF RFID tags imbedded in the event badges, conference attendees flowed through fixed RFID gates at both the entrance and the main forum. The system validated accreditation types, monitored capacity to the forum and provided real-time data about attendee enter/exit counts. The conference was also equipped with Connect&Go's RFID Chandeliers which were strategically placed above sponsored networking zones to collect data about the event's attendee flow and dwell time in particular zones.

"This information is becoming important for event organizers to create a more valuable and memorable experience for their cleints; to strategically deploy their resources and to properly manage their events" added Michael Rodrigues, Ticketing Manager at Evenko, Canada's Largest Independent Event Promoter.

Connect&Go's big break came with last year's deployment at Montreal's Osheaga Music Festival which used 75,000 RFID bracelets for access control as well as a site-wide social media sharing activation. "The incredible social reach and festival-goer engagement of our Osheaga Play Program speaks for itself. Our first year was a hit; so we've quadrupled the size of the activation this year and added RFID to our Heavy Montreal Festival the following weekend," added Pat Sandrin, Marketing Manager at Osheaga.

Since then, Connect&Go has deployed their access control, social media and/or cashless payment platform for the Soca Monarch's Launch in Trinidad, several tech conferences including Le Web a Quebec and RFID Journal LIVE! In Orlando, numerous brand activations and sports stadiums including the Montreal Impact's Saputo Stadium and the Montreal Alouettes' McGill Stadium.

The summer of 2014 will be very busy for Connect&GO with the 2014 edition of Evenko's Osheaga and Heavy Montreal, the Rogers Cup in both Montreal and Toronto, the Toronto Festival of Beer, Les Délices d'automne in Trois-Rivières and many others.

Not just an event platform, C&G is currently working on bringing the event experience to retailers with several initiatives including large retail Beacon deployments; a Bluetooth technology allowing for consumers to interact with stores and brands through mobiles apps.
