Lakeshore Recycling Systems Earns Chicago Public Schools' Coveted 'Best Partnership Award'

Recognized Annually by CPS, the Best Partnership Award Is Bestowed on a Supplier Who Demonstrates a Commitment to Students, a Willingness to Collaborate, and Whose Actions Change Behaviors and Policies That Result in Quantifiable Cost Savings

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Jul 31, 2014) - Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS), Chicagoland's leading independent recycling and waste diversion services provider, today announced it has been named the recipient of Chicago Public Schools' coveted Best Partnership Award for suppliers who demonstrate superior commitment to students and a strong track record of collaboration. According to CPS, the Best Partnership Award is bestowed on the supplier who most demonstrates initiative in creating efficiency and driving costs down. "From the outset, our partnership with LRS has been rooted in meaningfully educating our student base and workforce on the value and importance of waste recycling, as well as to creating efficiencies that we measure against key performance indicators to track progress," said CPS Sustainability Manager Meredith C. McDermott. "We are pleased to recognize LRS with the Best Partnership Award and look forward to their ongoing contribution to strengthen, sustain and grow CPS into the future."

LRS performs recycling and waste removal services for all 658 schools in the CPS system as part of an exclusive five-year contract that is expected to save CPS $7.5 million through the implementation of programs designed to streamline and economize previous service levels.
