Cielo Captures Top Spot on Institutional Investor's Latin America Executive Team

Itau Unibanco, Kroton Educacional, Cosan Also Earn High Marks From Analysts and Money Managers

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2014) - Cielo leads the 2014 Latin America Executive Team, Institutional Investor's fifth annual ranking of the region's corporate leaders as seen through the eyes of investment professionals.

Complete survey results, including best CEOs, CFOs and investor relations professionals, can be found at www.institutionalinvestor.com/rankings.

The Brazil-based credit card payments processor captures first place in all eight categories in which it is eligible to compete and also scores a second-place spot, for a total of nine ranked positions in the Financials/Nonbanks sector.

Brazilian companies complete the top five. At No. 2 overall is Itaú Unibanco, which claims nine spots -- seven first place and two second place -- in the Financials/Banks category.

Packaging manufacturer Klabin ranks third, followed by education services provider Kroton Educacional at No. 4. In fifth place is sugar and ethanol producer Cosan.

II asks buy-side analysts, money managers and sell-side researchers at securities firms and financial institutions that cover the region -- including those who cast and received votes in this year's Latin America Research Team survey -- to name the best chief executive officers, chief financial officers and investor relations professionals at the companies in their coverage universes.

We also invite them to identify up to four companies that excel in each of eight IR attributes, including providing access to senior managements, financial transparency and disclosure, and so on.

The 2014 Latin America Executive Team reflects the opinions of more than 400 buy-side analysts and money managers at over 270 firms that collectively manage an estimated $248 billion in Latin American equities, and more than 370 sell-side analysts at close to 40 firms.
