Video King Exonerated: Michigan Court Rejects Planet Bingo's Claims

Important decisions by 30th Circuit Court of Ingham County, Mich., eliminate all of Planet Bingo's claims against Video King regarding breach of contract and unfair competition.

OMAHA, NB, Aug. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Omaha-based VKGS LLC (dba Video King) is pleased to announce a number of important decisions, which have eliminated all of Planet claims, which were brought against Video King in the 30th Circuit Court of Ingham County, Mich. (Case No. 11-1369-CK)

On June 25, 2014, Judge Clinton Canady III summarily dismissed all amended claims of Planet Bingo based upon the Michigan Uniform Trade Secrets Act. In addition, the court granted Video King's motion to strike, which eliminated all other amended claims, which Planet Bingo had sought under their claim of "unfair competition."

On July 15, 2014, Judge Canady denied Planet Bingo's request for reconsideration of the summary disposition motion, which was previously granted on May 28, 2014. This reaffirmed his decision, which summarily dismissed Planet Bingo's claim that Video King improperly used confidential information in the development of Video King's comprehensive bingo hall management software--OMNI.

On August 13, 2014, Judge Canady denied Planet Bingo's recusal motion to disqualify himself, while also ruling that the motion was frivolous--even though he decided not to impose sanctions.

Rusty Morin, Video King's CFO, commented that "Video King is pleased that all of Planet Bingo's unfounded claims against Video King have been summarily disposed of, without going to trial. This comprehensive elimination of Planet Bingo's claims will allow Video King to focus on the determination of damages on our counterclaim judgment for breach of contract by Planet Bingo--as well as our claims for a wrongful injunction and frivolous litigation by Planet Bingo."
