The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Received More Than $25,000 from Henry Schein Cares to Help Fund Free Clinic in Madison

Alexandria, Virginia, UNITED STATES

WASHINGTON, Aug. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) announced that it received over $25,000 in health care supplies from Henry Schein Medical, the U.S. medical business of Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSIC), through the Company's global corporate social responsibility program, Henry Schein Cares. The company sponsored a one-day free health clinic in Madison, Wisconsin, on August 9th.

Henry Schein, Inc. is the world's largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners.

"By working together with community health organizations, such as the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, and our generous supplier partners, we help increase access to care for the underserved in cities across the country," said Ashely Lenz, Manager of Henry Schein Cares.

The clinic was held at Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way on Saturday, August 9th.

This free clinic was not just for the sick but also for anyone who was uninsured or had little to no access to medical care and had not seen a doctor recently. Hundreds of patients were able to receive basic preventive primary medical care (including medical exams, diabetes tests, cholesterol tests, EKGs, pregnancy tests and more), 3 free months of medication, health education, on-site insurance navigators and connection to follow up care and the area's safety net community resources.

"We were very pleased and appreciative that Henry Schein chose us as the beneficiary of this generous donation," said NAFC Executive Director Nicole Lamoureux. "This donation helped ensure that hundreds of our patients in Madison received the health care that they needed."
