Worldline joins EEBus to extend its connected home solutions
Berlin, 4 September 2014 - Worldline, [WLN], the European leader and a global player in the payments and transactional services industry, today announced that it is joining theEEBus Initiative e.V, the broadest platform worldwide in terms of the definition of new content for Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud services.
Demand for connected home solutions is growing*. By working with EEBus Initiative e.V, Worldline can deliver the next generation of connected home solutions that can communicate with different branded devices, security and smart energy solutions. This means the user can easily control and monitor all devices in their home using a single command, for example to switch on or off all devices. With the connection to the smart energy solution, the user can also ask the washing machine to start when the electricity rate is cheapest or when their own solar panel will be producing energy. This is not only convenient but can also reduce costs and is more sustainable.
The EEBus initiative is very active and includes representatives from those involved in smart Energy and connected home. Its key differentiator is linking the different areas of smart energy, security and household devices. For example, through EEBus it is possible for a programme to be set to alert the user if the security system is on, so nobody is at home, at the same time as the oven. The user can then remotely switch off the oven if necessary.
Worldline brings its Cloud, Big Data & Security knowledge through its connected living offer and its Connected Living Enabler platform for Internet of Things. Security & Privacy are key in the home environment and Worldline holds a vast expertise in this field to ensure consumers can be confident their home and information about their home remains secure.
