D2L Achieves Industry's Foremost Standard for Information Security Management

KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 17, 2014) - D2L Incorporated-the EdTech company that created Brightspace, the world's first truly integrated learning platform (ILP)-today announced it has achieved ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 27001 certification, an internationally-recognized standard that distinguishes information management systems which demonstrate high levels of information security controls and confidentiality.

The ISO 27001 certification is a leading global security standard and provides assurance that sufficient security frameworks and risk management processes are in place to prevent potential threats. The certification also requires companies to continuously meet these requirements in order to maintain their accreditation.

D2L received the certification after an audit, which found that the company's security processes met industry best practices and global standards in preserving the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information while proactively managing information security risks. The audit was conducted by BSI.
