Fidelity Bank Named a Top Employer by Boston Globe and Worcester Business Journal

LEOMINSTER, MA--(Marketwired - Nov 18, 2014) - Fidelity Bank has been named as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts by The Boston Globe for a fourth consecutive year and a Top Workplace by Worcester Business Journal.

The Boston Globe's 2014 award was based on a survey of nearly 80,000 employees statewide, who rated their employers based on workplace practices in direction, execution, connection, managers, work, and pay and benefits.

Fidelity Bank scored especially high in the category of Execution, with employees expressing confidence in senior management, praising the efficiency and strength of the overall operating approach, and affirming their appreciation for the value-based culture of the bank. A community bank, it has 132 employees at its Fitchburg, Gardner, Leominster, Millbury, Shirley, and Worcester offices. It ranked 28th among the state's medium employers in The Boston Globe survey, up from 40th last year.

"We all feel so fortunate to work in an environment where everyone shares a common vision and values, and each person is treated with dignity and respect," said Edward F. Manzi Jr., chairman and CEO of Fidelity Bank. "I am proud to work with such a wonderful group of people. This honor is a great testament to the power of our LifeDesign approach."

The Globe's findings are in a 48-page magazine included in the Sunday, November 16 print edition and online at

Worcester Business Journal named Fidelity Bank a Top Workplace in Central Massachusetts. The journal cited the bank as the number-one mid-sized employer for employee rewards and recognition.

"At the Leominster-based community bank, employees are frequently recognized for a job well done," Worcester Business Journal said. Recognitions include weekly "High Fives," the annual Mission Accomplished award, tickets to sporting events, and an annual outing for employees and their families. The article can be read at
