Advocis and Junior Achievement Canada announce financial literacy partnership

TORONTO, Nov. 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- November is Financial Literacy Month, and Advocis, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, is proud to announce a new partnership with Junior Achievement Canada that will advance the financial knowledge of youth across the country. Advocis members, who are professional financial advisors and planners, will visit elementary and high school classrooms and deliver Junior Achievement Canada's educational programs to students.

The programs are: Dollars with Sense, which empowers students to make smart lifelong financial decisions; Economics for Success, which encourages students to stay in school and plan for success; Investment Strategies, which transforms students into savvy investors; and Our Business World, which inspires students to become tomorrow's business leaders.

"We believe providing school-age children with access to Junior Achievement's high quality programs is a step in the right direction to building a financially literate society," says Greg Pollock, president and CEO, Advocis.

"We are very excited to have members of Advocis deliver our market leading financial literacy programs to students," says Keith Publicover, president and CEO, Junior Achievement of Canada.
