Kindle Auto Plaza Donates Nearly $100,000 to Local and National Organizations

Wounded Warrior Project Receives Highest Contribution

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J., Dec. 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In January of 2014, Kindle Auto Plaza announced that it would give up to $100,000 in charitable donations through its "Kindle Community Challenge" program. Every Kindle sales and service customer was given the opportunity to direct a donation to a chosen charitable or civic organization with ties to the community. Over 100 organizations were invited to a The Kindle Community Challenge celebration at Kindle Auto Plaza, where the program contributions were presented.

In keeping with the family business tradition of giving back to the community, the Kindle Community Challenge program was initiated by Vice President Steven Kindle, who encouraged customers to get better acquainted with the vital work of local and national charitable, civic and educational organizations.

The Wounded Warrior Project received the highest amount of support as customers directed over $10,000 to this organization supporting wounded veterans. Steven Kindle presented the donation at the Wounded Warrior office in New York on December 12th.

Christina Glisson, a Regional Engagement Specialist with Wounded Warrior Project noted, "When 9/11 happened, we knew that we were going to be faced with a new generation of warriors and our heroes were going to need all the support they could receive when they returned home to their families. We can't thank the entire Kindle organization enough as this donation will go right into the hands of the families who are dealing with the lasting effects that war brings home."

Other organizations receiving substantial contributions include: the American Cancer Society, Lunch with Lynch, Cape May County Animal Shelter, Love of Linda Cancer Fund, Animal Outreach, Wildwood Catholic, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #44, Naval Air Station Wildwood, Forgotten Warriors Vietnam Museum, the Hero Campaign, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, and the Animal Alliance of Cape May County.

"We are so thrilled that Kindle has taken this generous step to give back to the community," said John Lynch, founder of Lunch with Lynch, a longtime popular local organization serving the children of Cape May County. "The Kindle Community Challenge really shows how much Kindle Auto Plaza cares about the people of Cape May County. We want to thank them sincerely for their donation to our cause which helps aid the learning experiences of the children who attend school on the Island of Wildwood."
