MARICOPA, ARIZ., Jan. 12, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Associa Arizona and the Maricopa Meadows Homeowners Association welcomes competitors and spectators to this coming weekend's second annual Maricopa Meadows Open disc golf tournament. On January 17 professional and amateur competitors will play 40 holes and compete for more than $10,000 in prizes.
"The disc golf course is just one of the exceptional amenities at Maricopa Meadows and we're excited that it's being used for this major event for the second year in a row," says Associa Arizona Director of Client Relationships Jake Hoffman. "We hope to see some great competition and plenty of spectator support from the surrounding communities."
The course, at 45295 W Honeycutt Avenue, was developed in 2011 and winds through the community with six of the holes taking advantage of the beautiful views around the lake. Tournament officials are expecting around 100 players including many professionals who compete in tournaments around the world.
