Food Distributor Tiao Peng Trading Goes Solar, Saves Big

The New Solar System at Tiao Peng Trading Eliminates Electric Bill and Saves Over $2 Million.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vista Solar, a commercial solar design and installation firm, today announced that it has completed a 176-kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar system for Asian food distributor, Tiao Peng Trading, Inc.

The solar system, which is cash flow positive from the start and will pay for itself in under 3 years, will virtually eliminate Tiao Peng's electric bill and save the company over $2 million over the life of the system.

"Tiao Peng was a perfect candidate for solar," says Vista Solar project developer Spencer Wells. "Their large rooftop, high energy consumption and ability to take advantage of the solar tax credit will enable them to cut operating costs and free up capital to expand business operations."

Construction of the ballasted rooftop system took about three weeks to complete, and covers 40% of the 65,000 square foot rooftop. The equipment used includes high-efficiency Suniva 325 watt modules, SMA Tripower inverters and a Unirac mounting system.

"We are very excited about the immediate savings that will result from this solar system," says Danai Kietikul, owner of Tiao Peng.
