Study: Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern top list of best computer science schools in US

A new report from ComputerTrainingSchools.com catalogs the 30 best


FOSTER CITY, Calif., March 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The East Coast is home to the majority of the best computer science schools in the US, based on a new study from ComputerTrainingSchools.com ranking schools based on a variety of variables including graduation rate, student retention rate and total cost of attendance.

The discipline of computer science has seen considerable growth and change in recent years, spurred by concurrent growth in the software industry.   • Student enrollment
  • Study-to-faculty ratio
  • Student graduation rates
  • Student retention rates
  • Eligibility for Title IV student financial aid programs

Based on those metrics, the top 5 computer science schools are:

  1. Carnegie Mellon University
  2. Northwestern University
  3. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
  4. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  5. Yale University
