Kansas City Area Residents Urged to Call and Schedule Appointments for Massive One-Day Clinic Event

KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RxOutreach announced today that it will donate up to $250,000 worth of medications for patients who attend the one-day free health clinic being held by the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) in Kansas City, Missouri on April 18th.

Rx Outreach is a non-profit organization that provides affordable medications to low-income, uninsured patients through its mail-order pharmacy. The organization will be supplying free, 90-day mail order prescriptions for patients attending the Kansas City C.A.R.E. Clinic event, as it has done at past C.A.R.E. Clinics held by the NAFC throughout the county.

The massive, one-day clinic will be held at the Bartle Hall Kansas City Convention Center, 301 West 13th Street, Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Patient appointments will be available between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Patients are encouraged to call 1-800-340-1301 today to schedule an appointment.

"We are thrilled that our dedicated partner, RxOutreach, will again provide free 90 day supplies of medication to the 1,000+ patients who are expected to attend this clinic," said Nicole Lamoureux, CEO of the NAFC. "Without this donation, many of our patients would not have access to the medication they so desperately need. RXOUTREACH's tireless dedication to helping the medically underserved should be commended. We are encouraging patients to call and set up an appointment today so they can take advantage of this amazing donation."

The clinic will offer basic medical care (including medical exams, diabetes tests, cholesterol tests, EKGs, pregnancy tests, HIV testing, kidney disease testing and more), dental care (extractions only), health education, connection to follow up care and on-site insurance navigators.

Both medical and non-medical volunteers are needed and are encouraged to register now. Additional information and volunteer registration for the clinic is available at: www.NAFC2015KCCARE.com.
