Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP) Signs a Specialized Partnership Agreement With D2L

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - March 31, 2015) - D2L, the EdTech company that created Brightspace, the world's first integrated learning platform (ILP), today announced it has signed a specialized partnership agreement with NERCOMP. The 284-member consortium for higher education organizations has partnered with Brightspace by D2L to support its members and address the growing need to move away from one-size-fits-all learning management systems. Brightspace offers a more advanced learning platform that is easy-to-use and helps members achieve better learning outcomes and grow online programs. With learning analytics, simulation and game-enhanced learning, as well as support for competency based education, adaptive and personalized learning, Brightspace is the next generation of learning technology.

"We're looking forward to working with NERCOMP to introduce greater innovation to its member schools," said John Baker, President and CEO of D2L. "More advanced innovation results in greater learning, which in turn lights a fire in the hearts and minds of our students nationwide."

"Today's college students require a 21st century online tool which provides instant access, feedback and information about their academic life," said George F. Claffey Jr., Chair of NERCOMP. "Brightspace helps connect students' personal world to their digital academic life and our members with a platform that supports anywhere, anytime educational experiences."

NERCOMP members already on the Brightspace platform include the Western New England University, Monmouth University, the Rochester Institute of Technology and more. NERCOMP member campuses, regardless of their current platform, are invited to provide feedback during D2L's software development cycles, pilot new or improved technologies and test new user experiences under development.
