Avangate Enables Bitdefender to Market First 'Security of Things' Solution

Digital Commerce Provider to Support U.S. Online Sales, Physical Delivery and Ongoing Subscription Management for Bitdefender BOX

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwired - April 16, 2015) - Avangate, the leading Digital Commerce solution provider trusted by thousands of Software and Online Services companies to grow their business worldwide, today announced that Bitdefender, the innovative security provider in virtualized, physical, mobile and cloud environments, is using the Avangate commerce platform to sell the first security solution designed to protect Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the U.S. market.

Bitdefender's IoT security platform, Bitdefender BOX, is a small hardware device that connects to users' home wireless routers and scans network traffic to detect and block potential security and malware threats from every device on the network. The protection software can be monitored and customized through an accompanying Android or iOS mobile application.

Avangate's commerce solution will support online software sales and physical delivery for Bitdefender's BOX in the U.S. This includes the hardware device, as well as a renewable, yearly subscription to the service. BOX acts as a "plug and play" hardware gate that offers access to a wide variety of cloud services for security and device management across the household. Avangate will also manage BOX's subscription billing, powering recurring transactions.
