African Travel, Inc. Appoints New President

DELRAY BEACH, FL, April 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- African Travel, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Sherwin Banda as President effective August 2015. Banda, who was born and raised in Cape Town, has spent nearly 15 years in the international hospitality industry including positions in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Southern California. In his current position as General Manager of The Table Bay Hotel, Banda's strategic leadership has resulted in revenue growth of 60% in Cape Town's highly competitive hospitality industry.

"I am delighted that Sherwin will be joining our team, and I look forward to working together," said Lucille Sive, CEO of The Travel Corporation's Africa Division. "His reputation of charismatic leadership and continued innovation is well-known, and his commitment to delivering the quintessential African experience makes him the ideal candidate for this position."

African Travel, Inc.'s current President, Jim Holden, had previously announced his plans to resign effective in July.

"I want to thank Jim for his five years of leadership at African Travel, Inc.," said Richard Launder, President of The Travel Corporation USA. "His passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the African Continent are apparent from everything he says and does. We extend our very best wishes into the future."

"I've truly enjoyed my time at African Travel, Inc. and I wish the team my very best," said Holden. "I am confident they will be in great hands under Sherwin's new leadership."
