(Nasdaq:QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions, today announced it is collaborating with Huawei to demonstrate end-to-end 25Gb Ethernet networking solutions. Huawei servers equipped with QLogic 25Gb Ethernet adapters combine with Huawei 25Gb Ethernet switches to deliver end-to-end 25Gb Ethernet performance for next-generation data centers. QLogic 25Gb Ethernet adapters allow OEM customers such as Huawei to pursue new market opportunities and provide a cost-effective means for organizations to transition to future 100Gb Ethernet solutions that leverage four high-performance 25Gb Ethernet lanes.

Huawei is demonstrating its new 25G Data Center Solution with QLogic 25Gb Ethernet adapters at the Agile Data Center from May 20 through May 21, 2015.

Supporting 25/40/50/100Gb port speeds, these QLogic Ethernet adapters are able to address all next-generation server and storage to top-of-rack connectivity requirements in the cloud and hyperscale data center. QLogic 25/40/50/100Gb Ethernet interconnect technologies for the next-generation data center provide the unique ability to deliver a heterogeneous RDMA transport comprising of RoCE, RoCEv2 and iWARP, accelerating cloud and hyperscale workloads without constraints. Both specifications leverage a common 25Gb Ethernet lane signaling scheme, with 25Gb Ethernet utilizing one lane and 100Gb Ethernet utilizing four lanes. 100Gb Ethernet is a released IEEE standard today; 25Gb Ethernet is an emerging standard, initiated via the 25 Gigabit Ethernet Consortium and now an approved project within the IEEE (802.3by). 25Gb Ethernet provides 2.5X the performance of 10Gb Ethernet on a single lane of copper making it a cost-effective upgrade to 10Gb Ethernet infrastructure, while 100Gb Ethernet provides the absolute highest performance for the most demanding applications.
