FORMER MOTOROLA CEO AND SUN MICROSYSTEMS PRESIDENT EDWARD J. ZANDER JOINS MOBILECAUSE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Zander, former CEO of Motorola and President of Sun Microsystems, has joined their board of directors.  He will lend his unique perspective to help guide MobileCause's efforts to bring the power of technology to the forefront of social and online giving.
 
From mainframes and microcomputers, to the revolution in wireless devices and mobility, throughout his 35 years in the industry, Ed has played a key role in shaping some of today's most impactful technology.  As CEO and Chairman of the Board of Motorola, he is credited with making the Motorola RAZR the best-selling cell phone in history, sharpening the company's edge in technology innovation and delivering 12 consecutive quarters of revenue growth to achieve double digit earnings for the first time in over a decade.  At Sun Microsystems, during his 15 years as President and COO, Edward grew the company to $18B in revenue, establishing them as the premiere supplier of network software infrastructure with Solaris and Java and number one in the server market.

Edward J. Zander is a Director on the boards of leading technology companies, Seagate and NetSuite, since 2009.  At Motorola, Mr. Zander served Chairman and CEO from January 2004 until January 2008, when he retired as CEO and continued as Chairman until May 2008. Prior to joining Motorola, he was a managing director of Silver Lake Partners, a prominent private technology industry equity fund.  At Sun MicroSystems, from January 1987 until June 2002, Mr. Zander most recently served as President and COO for the leading provider of hardware, software and services for networks.  Ed received an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and holds an MBA and honorary Ph.D. from Boston University.
