Peak Resorts Highlights Summer Activity Schedule

WILDWOOD, Mo., May 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Peak Resorts, Inc. (Nasdaq:SKIS), a leading owner and operator of 13 high-quality, individually branded ski resorts primarily located in the Northeast and Midwest, is making the transition from winter to summer. While many of the resorts are quiet over the summer months, several resorts in Peak's portfolio offer a variety of seasonal activities and others host special events.

"Peak Resorts' interaction with its customers and communities does not stop when winter ends," said Timothy D. Boyd, president and chief executive officer. "For a handful of resorts located in areas where there is a strong summer tourism base, we offer warm-weather activities and amenities that appeal to the region's visitors. Several other of our resorts regularly host special festivals and competitions, often supporting the local community."

Summer Recreation at Peak Resorts Properties

Boyd noted, "Two of our resorts – Attitash Mountain Resort and Wildcat Mountain – are in the beautiful White Mountains Region of New Hampshire. This area of the state is known for its spectacular alpine views and inspiring scenery. During the summer and fall seasons, our guests have a unique opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and attractions that take full advantage of some of the most scenic views and riverside trails in the Mount Washington Valley.

"This year, our just-opened ZipTour now offers the longest single-zip span in the contiguous United States. At a total length of just under 5,000 feet and reaching heights 250 feet above the forest canopy, the two zip spans offer scenic views of the Presidential Range and Mount Washington on its way from the summit of Bear Peak to Attitash Mountain."

The summer calendar for Attitash Mountain began May 23, while Wildcat Mountain will begin June 20. For more information about the opportunities at each resort, please visit attitash.com and skiwildcat.com.

Special Festivals, Camps and Competitions

Boyd continued, "At our popular Mount Snow resort, each year we kick off the summer – and close out winter – with a special event that offers free hiking, skiing and riding to our loyal customers. The Mount Snow Peace Pipe Rail Jam was held on May 23. It is our way of thanking winter customers, while welcoming them back for the summer months. For the event, Mount Snow took what was left of the winter snow from the Half Pipe, hence the name, and turned it into a small terrain park."

Also at Mount Snow, the resort will be hosting the 2015 New England Tough Mudder on June 6-7. The Tough Mudder is a team oriented 10-12 mile obstacle course that puts team camaraderie over finishing results. The Tough Mudder is a world-class event that brings 8-10 thousand competitors to the Mount Snow Valley. For more information, please visit either mountsnow.com or toughmudder.com/events/2015-new-england.

"Beginning in late June, we will host The Family Camp at Mount Snow," said Boyd. "The fully customizable camps will offer families the chance to unplug and enjoy various activities, as electronic devices are not permitted during the day or at any other camp function. The Family Camp experience is sure to grow and strengthen relationships within families and within our own communities." For more information on The Family Camp, please visit mountsnow.com/family-camp. The camps will operate every week through early August.

Mount Snow Golf Club has also opened for the season, featuring a brand new fleet of electric golf carts. Tee times can be booked online at mountsnow.com/golf.

At the company's Boston Mills Ski Resort, the company has hosted the Boston Mills Artfest each year since 1972. Artfest is a nationally recognized fine art and craft show that connects art patrons in Northeast Ohio with more than 300 different exhibiting artists and their work. The event will be held on the weekends of June 26 and July 2. Further information on the event can be found at bmbw.com.
