TROY, Mich., May 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Within six months of contract signing, Cupertino, CA went live on New World Systems® LOGOS™ Financial Management and Human Resources software.
According to Cupertino’s Director of Administrative Services Kristina Alfaro this timely implementation and go-live was made possible by partnering with New World to establish several key initiatives:
- New World created a schedule that highlighted key dates and milestones
- Specific roles were assigned to New World and city staff to allocate their time more effectively
- Goals were established early on to provide city officials and New World with a concrete framework for making future business decisions
“We spent a lot of time determining when things would be scheduled and completed,” Alfaro said. “In the end, it worked to our advantage as we signed our contract in July of 2014 and went live in January of 2015.”
By working with the city’s employees, New World determined what the city planned to accomplish and was better able to explain how the new system would meet those goals.
“We were repeatedly impressed with how consistently New World’s employees were always customer-centric,” Alfaro said. “They made sure we understood everything during procurement and implementation by focusing on helping us through troubleshooting and learning the software.”
The city itself helped streamline the implementation by assuring that all working managers had key technical skills, no one worked alone, problems were addressed immediately, and all departments were invited to training sessions, according to Alfaro.
“Team work was the key to success within our own organization,” Alfaro said. “There was minimal micromanagement and bureaucracy. Our employees were done with the old system and ready for a change. New World helped us to bring about that change.”
Going forward, Alfaro said New World will help increase transparency within the community with LOGOS Business Analytics. Using this solution, Cupertino will provide data reports in real time, empower employees to look up their information independently, and ensure that compliance reviews will be more accurate.
