RALEIGH, N.C., June 4, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brent Ciliano has joined First Citizens Bank as its Chief Investment Officer, leading the company's Capital Management Group.

Ciliano manages a team of investment professionals and serves as chair of Wealth Management's Investment Strategy Committee. He has more than 20 years of experience in portfolio strategy, portfolio management and investment banking.

Ciliano joined First Citizens from Congress Capital Partners, where he most recently served as the firm's chief investment officer and as chair of the Investment Policy Committee for the Risk Managed Series suite of investment strategies. Before his tenure there, he served as head of portfolio strategy for Goldman Sachs Asset Management's TPD Portfolio Strategy group, head of strategy for SEI's Wealth Network Group and senior strategist on the MLIM (now BlackRock) Global Allocation Fund. He has also worked in global mergers and acquisitions at Merrill Lynch.
Ciliano received his bachelor's degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a dual major in finance and accounting. He holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation and served as a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
