WALTHAM, Mass., June 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Proteon Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq:PRTO), a company developing novel, first-in-class therapeutics to address the medical needs of patients with kidney and vascular diseases, today announced that it was added to the Russell 2000® index effective at the close of the U.S. markets on June 26, 2015.

The Russell 2000® Index, a subset of the Russell 3000® Index, measures the performance of the small-cap segment of U.S. equities. Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies.
