IRVINE, Calif., July 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Orange County chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI OC) is pleased to announce that chapter President-Elect Cynthia Skoglund was named the 2015 NIRI National Volunteer of the Year. The award was bestowed on Ms. Skoglund on June 13 during the NIRI Volunteer Appreciation Dinner in Chicago, site of the 2015 NIRI Annual Conference (www.niri.org/conference), the world's largest and most comprehensive investor relations education and networking event.
Introduced in 2009, the award honors a NIRI member who best exemplifies the NIRI mission of "advancing the practice of investor relations and professional competency and stature of NIRI members" at the national level. An active volunteer at both the national and chapter levels, Ms. Skoglund has been a NIRI member for 25 years. She has served on the Orange County board for more than 20 years in a variety of positions including program and special events chair, treasurer, senior advisor and as Chapter President in 1999, 2011 and 2012. On the national level, Ms. Skoglund has served in multiple leadership and planning roles, including a member of the Annual Conference Committee, special events chair and a speaker at numerous events and Webinars. Ms. Skoglund recently retired from Beckman Coulter in Brea, CA, after 20+ years of service in business development, strategic planning and investor relations roles.
