CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 6, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Associa Carolinas, one of the newest branches of Associa, will be represented at next year's Community Associations Institute (CAI) Annual Conference and Expo by Vice President Melissa Merritt Darden. She was recently appointed as the 2016 NC-CAI Steering Committee chairwoman.

Merritt-Darden joined Associa Carolinas as its vice president in 2014 has previously had roles in portfolio management, client relations, transition & education. She most recently served the NC-CAI as part of the Education Sub-Committee and as the onsite committee chairperson for the 2015 conference in Charlotte. Merritt-Darden is currently an active committee member of the Piedmont Regional Council for NC-CAI. She has attained her CMCA, AMS, and a PCAM designations from CAI and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from Georgetown University.
