Chief Outsiders Tapped to Participate in Inaugural Inc. Magazine Startup Accelerator

Founder and CEO Art Saxby, other Chief Outsiders, to lend talents to Inc.edu, an intensive online institute for startup-minded entrepreneurs

HOUSTON, Aug. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On the heels of Chief Outsiders' first-ever appearance on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States, the strategic marketing firm has been enlisted by the prestigious publication to participate in the first session of "Inc.edu" – a series of immersive, multi-week courses focused on entrepreneurial skills and tools.

During the inaugural series, titled "The Inc. Startup Accelerator," Art Saxby, Founder and CEO of Houston-based Chief Outsiders, and other fractional and interim Chief Marketing Officers in the firm's cadre of experts, will join other Inc. all-stars in inspiring entrepreneurs to turn their insightful ideas into actionable business concepts.

Saxby and other experts – including chief executives from consumer product and technology firms -- will offer hands-on, one-on-one coaching and feedback to participants during the virtual, five-week institute – commencing August 25. Participants will emerge from the course with finely-honed strategies to organize, fund, protect and market their new product or brand.

In tapping Chief Outsiders' roster of CMOs as facilitators, Inc. President and Editor-in-Chief Eric Schurenberg lauded the company's keen C-level insights and expertise. "We're thrilled to have top business advisors and coaches from the Chief Outsiders' roster of CMOs," Schurenberg said. "Their experience in helping CEOs develop and grow business opportunities will bring tremendous value to our entrepreneurs."

Additionally, Chief Outsiders' Saxby will present the fifth and final keynote address in this introductory series. "It is an honor to be included in this compelling program – especially given our ongoing mission of providing C-level expertise to help companies catalyze their marketing efforts, sales and ROI," said Saxby. "It is particularly significant in that we, not too long ago, were walking the same path that these fledgling entrepreneurs are now striding upon. We are gratified to be in a position to be able to give back in this manner."

Mushrooming demand for fractional chief marketing officers earned Chief Outsiders – the country's leading provider of said talent – the No. 560 spot on the Inc. 5000 list in 2014.

The recognition for Houston-based Chief Outsiders, which made its first appearance on Inc. magazine's prestigious list in 2014, spotlights the rocketing need for experienced, C-level marketing executives with varied experiences for more temporary, "right-sized" engagements.

About Chief Outsiders

Chief Outsiders, LLC, an "Executives-as-a-Service" firm, helps grow mid-sized companies from coast-to-coast with nearly 50 part-time, or fractional, Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) who have held positions of VP Marketing or higher at one or more operating companies. These individuals' breadth of experience makes it possible for Chief Outsiders to put the right skill set on a leadership team of any company for a fraction of the cost of a full time executive. Unlike other strategic marketing and management consulting firms, Chief Outsiders works with company leadership teams to develop and implement market based growth plans. Chief Outsiders believes delivering a world-class marketing strategy on its own creates little value and that the real value is created by helping the organization implement the growth vision.

Because of its market based growth plans, leadership and experienced team, Chief Outsiders was recently listed by Inc Magazine as one of the 600 fastest growing privately held companies in the US (in the top 10 in Houston) and recognized for the Houston Business Journal's Fast 100. Businesses seeking Chief Outsiders as a premier source include: ErgoGenesis, Five Stone Tax, Summa Technologies, and Riverside Company portfolio companies OnCourse Learning, YourMembership and IDoc, Source Capital portfolio companies such as Abutec, and Merrill Lynch Specialties Group portfolio companies such as EarthColor.
