Cabot Microelectronics Corporation Completes Acquisition of NexPlanar Corporation

AURORA, Ill., Oct. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cabot Microelectronics Corporation (Nasdaq:CCMP), the world’s leading supplier of chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) polishing slurries and a growing CMP pad supplier to the semiconductor industry, announced today that it has completed its acquisition of NexPlanar Corporation (NexPlanar) for a purchase price of approximately $142.3 million, pursuant to the terms of the acquisition agreement signed on September 27. At closing, NexPlanar had approximately $15 million of cash and no debt.  NexPlanar is a U.S. based company that specializes in the development, manufacture and sale of advanced CMP pad solutions for the semiconductor industry, and had been privately held.
