FinalCode Appoints COO and SVP of Worldwide Sales

Scott Gordon and John Grillos Bolster FinalCode’s Sales Growth and Momentum

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FinalCode, Inc., the innovator in enterprise file security, today announced the appointments of Scott Gordon to chief operating officer and John Grillos to senior vice president of worldwide sales. The addition of Gordon serves to provide go-to-market strategy, corporate performance and operations support for FinalCode’s large and mid-tier enterprise file security business, and to develop the company’s entry into global markets. In his new role, Grillos is responsible for accelerating sales and advancing FinalCode’s channel relationships and strategic partnerships. FinalCode’s file security platform serves enterprises across the financial services, manufacturing, government, healthcare and retail industries.

“We are thrilled to have Scott as an essential member of our executive team,” said Gord Boyce, CEO of FinalCode. “I’ve worked with Scott in the past and have seen first-hand the results he brings to an organization.  I welcome his strategic depth, know-how and motivation for getting things done as we establish FinalCode as the trusted global leader in file collaboration security solutions.”

Previously, Gordon was chief marketing officer of ForeScout Technologies. He brings more than 20 years of experience as an accomplished leader to the COO role. Prior to ForeScout, Gordon held senior management positions within Protego Networks (acq. Cisco), Axent Technologies (acq. Symantec) and McAfee. He is the author of “Operationalizing Information Security” and the contributing author of the “Definitive Guide to Next-Gen NAC.” Scott is CISSP-ISSMP certified, holds an MBA and earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and MIS from Hofstra University.

“File collaboration is a business operating norm, but with advancements in content management systems, cloud file storage and mobile collaboration, come new data exposures,” said Gordon. “What’s compelling about FinalCode is how file security is made easy, rapidly scalable and persistent in an agnostic way to file storage, delivery and management. The company is well positioned to help organizations mitigate global file data leakage risks, and I am looking forward to contributing to FinalCode’s success.”

Prior to FinalCode, Grillos was vice president of business development at Seclore, an information rights management vendor. A seasoned executive with more than 25 years in enterprise software, content management and file security, Grillos has broad experience across sales, business development and product management. He has previously held leadership positions at IBM, EMC Documentum, Workshare Corporation and Quark Software Inc. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in legal studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Said Boyce, “John’s proven ability to cultivate customer and channel relationships, his domain expertise and his acumen to anticipate partner needs for technology solutions are essential in helping our business achieve growth goals. I am confident that his leadership and drive will significantly expand sales opportunity for us and our partners, and we’re excited to welcome him to the team.”

“It’s a perfect time to join FinalCode, as data privacy breach news and evolving compliance requirements are generating high demand for solutions that secure files inside and outside an organization,” said Grillos. “Companies of all sizes and across industries have a need for file access and usage control. We are in a fantastic position to address those needs but, at the same time, not disrupt user productivity or force organizations to replace their current infrastructure investments.”

The growth of cloud and mobile computing, the ease at which files can be shared and the diversity of collaboration methods, applications and devices have all contributed to the frequency of file data leakage incidents. As evidenced in a recent report, 2015 State of File Collaboration Security by Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), more than 80 percent of information security decision makers experienced file data leakage incidents, with 84 percent expressing moderate to no confidence in their capacity to secure confidential files. In that same report, 90 percent of respondents stated the lack of protection of files leaving cloud-based platforms or device containers as the highest risk to adopting cloud-based file storage and collaboration services.

Launched earlier this year, FinalCode® enables businesses to easily, quickly and comprehensively protect shared sensitive files while using new or existing network and cloud infrastructure. See how it works. The company has already been recognized by Gartner as a Cool Vendor for 2015, by CRN as a 2015 Emerging Vendor and by Red Herring as a Top 100 North American Startup.
