In its third edition, the awards are given to the most notable Italian personalities, artists, products and businesses each in their own sector, which have made the most significant contribution to Italy's influence and prestige in the Unites States.

In addition to Parmigiano Reggiano® other nominees in the food category included Urbani Tartufi, Collavita Olive Oil, Barilla pasta and Mutti. 2015 winners included top brands such as Kartell for design and Renzo Piano for the most impactful architectural project. Voting is open to the general public who may cast votes for their favorite Italian names and goods in the United States.

"We're honored that Parmigiano Reggiano has won this award recognizing its superior quality and taste, and dedication to time honored production techniques," stated Federico Bolla, co-director for the consortia's US office based in Northern California. "It was tough competition and we look forward to sharing the news with all the cheese makers in Italy who will be very proud of this honor."
