ROCKFORD, Ill., Nov. 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rockford Career College, which has been serving Illinois since 1862, has introduced a new brand and website at RockfordCareerCollege.edu.
"Rockford Career College has been serving the Rockford community since 1862, continually changing and advancing to keep up with the times," said Stephen Tave, CEO/President of American Higher Education Development Corp. (AHED), the parent company of Rockford Career College. "The leadership team felt it was time for the brand to better reflect that advancement and the skills we offer our students."
The logo, corporate identity guidelines and website were developed by Gragg Advertising, based in Kansas City, MO. Gragg Graphic Designer Roberto Cruz says they experimented with many different fonts, colors and designs before ultimately settling on blue and green for the new logo, using the Rockwell font for the word Rockford, and Trebuchet for "Career College" and other type.
The same research went into the selection of the v-shaped emblem, known as a chevron, above the words. "We didn't want to veer too far from the fast forward look they had before, so we played with different geometric shapes before settling on the chevrons," Cruz said. "And some of the research we found said that these particular shapes were used in ruins and Viking culture to represent the idea of creating your own reality. We thought that would resonate well with Rockford Career College students, as well as the faculty."
Tave says the new brand has been well received with the students and faculty members.
In addition to general information on Rockford Career College, its programs and faculty, the new website shares information on career services, flexible schedules and accelerated programs. It is also easier to navigate, as well as being mobile-friendly.
"Everything is moving faster these days, including education," said AHED CCO/COO Jeffrey Bodimer. "Our goal is to give our students the education and skills they need to get into the career that will give them the life they want. We feel this new brand and website will help us achieve that."
