Lice Clinics of America Opens New Treatment Center in West Hartford

Clinic provides guaranteed, one-and-done lice treatments using FDA-cleared medical device

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 8, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Head lice infamously cause stress, disgust and embarrassment for millions of moms whose kids get infested each year. But thanks to the opening of a new Lice Clinics of America clinic, moms in the Hartford area no longer have to worry about treating the icky bugs themselves.

Lice Clinics of America provides screening, diagnosis and treatment options for people infested with head lice. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé device, an FDA-cleared medical device that kills head lice and lice eggs using just heated air.

The clinic is managed by Melissa Parker, a pediatric nurse. She was surprised to learn from recent news stories that traditional over-the-counter treatments were no longer effective on head lice in Connecticut. Parker, a mother with four young children, knew how overwhelming a lice infestation can be to parents, so she started researching whether there were treatments that still worked.

"My research took me to Lice Clinics of America and their FDA-cleared, patented, AirAllé device, which dehydrates lice and nits using heated air, killing even those so-called Super Lice," said Parker. "Helping others and having an impact on people's lives is something that drives me every day. As general manager of the West Hartford clinic, I get the chance to do just that."

Lice Clinics of America, which opened its doors on December 1st, is located at 67 Prospect Avenue, Suite 301 in West Hartford. The clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, with appointments on weekends as well. AirAllé treatments there take about an hour, and come with a 30-day guarantee.

The West Haven clinic is one of 90 U.S. clinics in the Lice Clinics of America network.

With 90 U.S. clinics and 80 international clinics, Lice Clinics of America is the largest network of professional head-lice-treatment centers in the world. Lice Clinics of America and AirAllé are brands owned by Larada Sciences, Inc.
