National Military Family Association Teams Up with Laurel & Wolf for Big Surprise

The virtual design service surprised a deserving military kid with a brand new bedroom

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Military Family Association (NMFA), a nonprofit that works to strengthen and protect military families, was honored to partner with virtual interior design company Laurel & Wolf to surprise a deserving military family with a bedroom transformation.

12-year-old Maddie of Brownsville, New Jersey was the lucky winner of this year's Military Child Bedroom Makeover Giveaway.

"Military kids are strong and resilient, and we know they serve too," said NMFA Executive Director, Joyce Wessel Raezer. "It is such a pleasure to work with Laurel & Wolf for the second year in a row to give a military kid, who has experienced the stressors of multi-moves, multi-deployments, and military family life, this unique surprise."

Maddie's father wrote to Laurel & Wolf detailing why his daughter deserved this special makeover. "As a maturing young lady, my daughter needs to feel like her privacy is respected and having a new space will help. I honestly feel like a room makeover will give her a better sense of herself and help give her confidence as she moves forward."

Laurel & Wolf founder Leura Fine adds, "Laurel & Wolf is honored to work with our country's incredible military families through the National Military Family Association. It has been our greatest joy watching Maddie's parents' wishes come to fruition. Maddie's father's selfless desire to give his daughter her own space so she can thrive and feel confident is one that is almost as admirable as his service to our nation. Our goal is to continue to turn military families' spaces into true homes and to empower people to live the lives they deserve through the power of great design."

Laurel & Wolf provided personalized virtual design services and teamed up with product partners Tuft & Needle, Poppin, Canvaspop, and Crane & Canopy to create a magical bedroom and add stability to the family's life. To learn more, or to design your very own room makeover, visit laurelandwolf.com.
