2015 NAIA Football Championship to be Delivered on ESPN3

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is excited to announce that the 2015 NAIA Football National Championship will be streamed on ESPN3 across WatchESPN platforms in high definition for the third-consecutive year. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST/5 p.m. CST on Saturday, Dec. 19.

"We've had a great relationship with the ESPN networks over the past two years and are excited to continue that with the 2015 football title game," said Jim Carr, NAIA President and CEO. "ESPN has allowed us the opportunity to reach wider audiences than ever before in multiple championship sports. ESPN3 specifically gives NAIA football fans access to the game on a number of devices, presenting individuals with numerous opportunities to watch our student-athletes compete at the highest level."
ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It's accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The network is currently available to more than 99 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.  The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
For the second-consecutive year, the NAIA Football National Championship will take place at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla. Prior to last year's title game, the event had been held in Rome, Ga., the previous six years. Municipal Stadium, which was built in 1988, is the home field of NCAA Division I Bethune-Cookeman (Fla.).

In addition to this year's title game, 14 regular-season NAIA football games will air on ESPN3 this fall. Thirteen of those contests feature schools out of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while the other game showcased then-top-ranked Morningside (Iowa) against NCAA Division III No. 1 Wisconsin-Whitewater on Sept. 24.

Future coverage on the ESPN family of networks will be announced at a later date.
