Great Plains Communications acquires fiber assets from Pinpoint Holdings

The acquisition will further leverage the Great Plains Communications growing 5,000+ mile fiber network


BLAIR, Neb., Dec. 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Great Plains Communications, the largest privately owned Nebraska telecommunications company has entered into an agreement with regional fiber company, Pinpoint Holdings, to acquire their Pinpoint Network Services and Pinpoint Broadband business units including the Omaha Metro fiber optic ring and regional transport fiber spanning from Chicago to Omaha and Denver. Acquisition details are being finalized, with a projected close date scheduled in early 2016.

"These fiber assets will allow us to further strengthen our network presence with greater redundancy and more capacity while leveraging our existing routes, including access into Chicago and additional fiber rings in Omaha," said Todd Foje, CEO of Great Plains Communications. The newly acquired Pinpoint fiber assets truly complement the existing 5,000+ fiber network owned and operated by Great Plains Communications which encompasses the state of Nebraska, extending into Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
