SMARTGov Inspect mobile app streamlines field work

Community development software improves portability and productivity

POULSBO, Wash., Feb. 4, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Paladin Data Systems announced the release of SMARTGov Inspect, SMARTGov's mobile application. Inspect scales the desktop version of SMARTGov field inspection to a simple, functional version that can be used on an iOS (Apple) smartphone or tablet. The desktop version of SMARTGov is Web-based software that manages the community development functions for local government including: permitting, planning, inspections, code enforcement, licenses, fees, parcels, contractors and many others.

Designed specifically for mobile devices, SMARTGov Inspect makes inspection data fully portable in the field; inspectors can use all inspector features of the systems while conducting on-site inspections, including printing out necessary documentation. In addition, users can receive real-time updates while connected through cellular access, or work offline with data caching on their mobile device to maintain workflow while outside of cellular coverage.

"We are excited to release SMARTGov's Inspect out to our existing customers," said Vice President of Product Delivery Juan Haley. "During field testing we received many positive comments on how Inspect's functionality and work flows saved valuable time for inspectors.  This is one of several SMARTGov releases that are focused on improving the workflows of SMARTGov and the customers we serve."

SMARTGov Inspect means increased data access and productivity throughout the community development department SMARTGov customers. Performing inspections or investigations, documenting deficiencies, and alerting stakeholders of those deficiencies are critical job functions that need to be performed in real time. SMARTGov facilitates the timely flow of information to both staff and citizen clients.

An iOS (Apple) version of the app is currently available at the App Store. An Android version of SMARTGov Inspect is to be built and released later this year.
