Associa CMC Clients Receive Top Honors from CAI


CHANTILLY, VA, Feb. 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Each year, the Washington Metro Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) selects winners for Community Association of the Year in four size categories – Very Large, Large, Medium and Small. This award recognizes communities that best demonstrate excellence in all facets of association operations and governance by following CAI's Best Practices.  WMCCAI also selects winners for Communicator of the Year and Humanitarian of the Year.  Associa Community Management Corporation (CMC) is very proud to announce that three of the six awards for 2015 were won by its clients!  

Community Association of the Year - Very Large (1000+ units)

Dominion Valley Owners' Association took home the prize for Community Association of the Year in the very large category. It is a beautiful, developing community with more than 2,000 units located in Haymarket, Virginia.  According to residents, the community affords for a vacation lifestyle with a small town feel.  The neighborhood is beautiful and well maintained and there are a number of amenities including an Arnold Palmer signature golf course, sports pavilion, clubhouse, private parks and playgrounds, shopping, dining, and a safe neighborhood feeling.  

Community Association of the Year – Medium (150-499 units)

The Savoy at Reston Town Center Condominium was awarded Community Association of the Year in the medium category.  It is a luxury, garden-style condo located in the heart of Reston, Virginia.  The 365 unit condo is home to a melting pot of more than 500 residents representing many ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.  The condo itself boasts a fitness center, movie room, game room, swimming pool and secure parking while the surrounding town center provides a plethora of restaurants, shops, concerts and other seasonal activities, all within walking distance.  

Humanitarian of the Year

Heritage Hunt HOA earned the Humanitarian of the Year award, for the FOURTH TIME!  It is an active adult community with more than 1,800 homes located in Gainesville, Virginia.  Key humanitarian efforts include a golf tournament that raised more than $1.3 million for cancer research, Blanket and Quilters Club donations of more than 5,000 blankets to local charities, the HH Women's Organization and its mission to promote civic responsibility, School Volunteers assisting local youth, the Giving Circle of Heritage Hunt helping charities establish grants and Ronald McDonald House supporters Pop Tops and Crossroads Connections.
