NPSF Patient Safety Coalition Welcomes Quantros

National Patient Safety Foundation program aligns diverse stakeholders with commitment to improving health care safety

BOSTON, MASS., Feb. 25, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), a central voice for patient safety since 1997, has welcomed Quantros as the newest member of the NPSF Patient Safety Coalition.

Quantros specializes in providing software and services to help health care providers capture and analyze clinical data that can be used to improve outcomes, reduce risks of harm, and help advance patient safety. Quantros provides a range of services for hospitals, retail pharmacies, and large health systems and is also certified by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality as a Patient Safety Organization (PSO). One of only 81 PSOs in the country, the Quantros Patient Safety Center provides education and a forum for collaborative learning among its members.

"We joined the NPSF Patient Safety Coalition to further demonstrate the Quantros commitment to advancing safe, quality health care," said Annie Callanan, president and CEO, Quantros. "Like NPSF, we recognize that there is still much work to be done to improve patient safety, and we believe collaboration is key. We look forward to working with and learning from the Foundation and other Coalition members."

The NPSF Patient Safety Coalition was created to align diverse stakeholders from across the continuum of care in a unifying mission of making health care safer for patients and the workforce.

"We are truly pleased to welcome Quantros to the Patient Safety Coalition," said Tejal K. Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, president and CEO of NPSF. "We are very much committed to working with them and all of our Coalition members to share knowledge and promote advances in the field."

Membership in the NPSF Patient Safety Coalition is open to myriad groups, including solutions providers working to address patient safety challenges, professional associations, advocacy organizations, and other similarly committed organizations. Coalition members gain valuable opportunities for networking, learning, and knowledge sharing through quarterly webinars, an annual member meeting, special projects and events, and other high-value activities.
