Computable Privacy Solution Now in Release 5

Mobile-Friendly Middle Tier Software Prevents Data Breaches

NAPLES, FL and TORONTO, ON --(Marketwired - April 19, 2016) - HIPAAT Inc. (HIPAAT), a leading provider of consent management, privacy-based access control and auditing solutions for healthcare, today announced the release of Privacy eSuite v5.0. The new version of the data governance engine, supported by auditing, gives organizations a more intuitive and flexible way to manage and enforce consumer, organizational and jurisdictional privacy policies for health information exchanges (HIEs), hospitals and physician practices.

"Privacy eSuite (PeS) enables our customers to prevent privacy breaches, a major concern of healthcare organizations," said Terry Callahan, HIPAAT Managing Director. "There is also significant potential for Privacy eSuite to be leveraged in markets beyond healthcare. Big Data is one possibility. We're just scratching the surface here and elsewhere."

According to a recent Black Book Market Research survey, 63% of hospitals and hospital systems report they are in the active stages of replacing their current HIE system -- whether private, public, homegrown or EHR-dependent -- with a variety of options, including middleware and more advanced HIE systems. Topping the list of reasons (for 97% of provider users) for replacing their HIE systems is the potential for data breaches.

"Privacy eSuite, supporting the middle tier, is recognized as a critical component to our customers," said Kel Callahan, HIPAAT President and COO. "So we're excited about the v5.0 design which includes enhancements informed by these implementations of significant size and scope. All hospitals and HIEs can benefit from our software tools to reduce their exposure to internal data breaches and foster patient trust in the electronic exchange of their information."

PeS enables organizations to go beyond role-based access control to address the appropriateness of access to personal/protected health information. Updates to the software include a more modern and intuitive user interface, expanded browser support, more flexible rules engine, an expanded reporting tool and more comprehensive backend technology.
