Kessler Foundation among 2016 Best Nonprofits in U.S. and Best Places to Work in New Jersey


WEST ORANGE, N.J., April 21, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kessler Foundation has once again been ranked among the Best U.S. Nonprofits to Work For and the Best Places to Work in New Jersey.

"Given the Foundation's dedication to diversity in the workplace, this recognition carries special significance for us," said Rodger DeRose, president and chief executive officer of Kessler Foundation. "For the fourth consecutive year, the Foundation has been voted one of the best nonprofits in the U.S., and 2016 marks our fifth year among the best places to work in New Jersey." 
 
Kessler Foundation employs more than 100 people at two locations in West Orange, NJ.  Foundation scientists conduct research aimed at finding better ways to restore mobility and cognition for individuals with disabling illnesses and injuries. Kessler Foundation is also a leader in grant making focused on innovative initiatives that expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Kessler Foundation was ranked 13th in the Best Nonprofits national ranking this year by The Nonprofit Times, and 6th in the medium category (50-249 employees) for Best Places to Work by NJBIZ. The rankings are based on information that organizations provide on their employment practices and benefits. Employees are queried via an anonymous survey designed to assess fundamental aspects of organization's leadership, corporate culture and communications, and work environment, as well as their supervision, opportunities for training and development, and satisfaction with compensation and benefits.

Companies across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The overall registration and survey process was managed by Best Companies Group (BCG). BCG also analyzed the data provided and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
 
The awards program, created in 2005, is produced by NJBIZ. The Best Places to Work in New Jersey awards reception and ceremony was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at iPlay America's Event Center in Freehold, NJ.
