This software enables Android and iOS mobile applications to accept EMV chip and PIN payments in-person, without the complexities of an EMV certification.
As of October 2015, both Canada and the US have moved to EMV 'chip' cards for card-present transactions, resulting in an increased demand for EMV chip enabled payment terminals.
The sproutPOS EMV SDK aims to empower developers by removing the complexities of accepting chip and PIN payments in-person, including:

According to the 2016 Mmetrics report, cards are the preferred payment method in Canada, with credit card spending increasing by 8.36% over the first quarter of 2015, holding a 64.66% share of purchases made. Debit sales rose by 2.57%, representing a 35.34% share of total card spending. Allowing customers to pay using the card in their wallet, without complicated card registration processes in the app, gives mobile apps who offer in-person card processing an advantage.
