Wilshire Consulting Names Mark Brubaker Head of Its Outsourced Chief Investment Officer Solutions Practice

Growing Wilshire OCIO Solutions Practice Impetus for Appointment

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wilshire Consulting, the institutional investment advisory business unit of Wilshire Associates Incorporated (Wilshire®), a diversified global financial services firm, today announced it has named veteran consultant Mark Brubaker, CFA, as head of its Wilshire OCIO Solutions practice. In recent years, Wilshire’s full discretionary advisory business has grown significantly due in great part to Brubaker’s leadership and this appointment formalizes his role and responsibilities.

“In the past three years, the number of clients we serve and our assets under management have increased substantially,” stated Andrew Junkin, CFA, CAIA, president, Wilshire Consulting.  “Mark has been instrumental in building our team, structure and procedures critical for effectively executing numerous aspects of managing an outsourced CIO practice. This is an important part of our business and Mark’s unique skills, exceptional experience and demonstrated leadership have us poised for continued growth,” added Junkin.

Wilshire Consulting began offering full discretionary and implemented consulting services in 2001 to develop, implement and maintain customized investment strategies for clients seeking to outsource the resource-intensive tasks of managing complex portfolios.  Following decades of experience advising some of the world’s largest asset owners, the infrastructure for Wilshire’s OCIO practice was in place and prepared to assist clients in meeting long-term investment objectives.

“While the Wilshire OCIO Solutions team is comprised of seasoned investment professionals, its real strength in attracting new clients is its ability to leverage the intellectual capital, technology and infrastructure developed for the institutional asset owner by Wilshire Associates over the past four decades,” noted Brubaker.  “There are an increasing number of organizations seeking to better allocate resources by outsourcing many of the investment and administrative responsibilities traditionally shouldered by a CIO and I look forward to leading Wilshire’s response to this market demand.”
