Billionaire Investors Mark Cuban and Chris Sacca Invest $600,000 in Early Education Platform Brightwheel

Investors Battle on "Shark Tank" for Opportunity to Invest

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 2, 2016) - Brightwheel, which offers the first free, all-in-one software platform for early education, has raised $600,000 from notable investors Mark Cuban and Chris Sacca via the ABC television show "Shark Tank."

Brightwheel is an innovative, all-in-one app for schools, daycares, and families. Through brightwheel, teachers can easily track attendance, record observations, share photos and notes, and gain insights into daily activities -- while administrators can manage across classrooms and send paperless, automated invoices for school tuition. For parents, brightwheel provides a real-time connection with their child throughout the day, helping facilitate conversation and education at home. The platform is free for both schools and families.

Brightwheel is used by thousands of schools and daycares of all sizes across the globe. It has been proven to save teachers up to an hour each day and boost parent satisfaction within weeks of use.

During the Shark Tank episode, investors Cuban and Sacca fought over the opportunity to invest individually before finally agreeing to participate together.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Mark Cuban and Chris Sacca to the brightwheel team," said Dave Vasen, brightwheel's founder. "They bring invaluable experience in building some of the most successful companies in the world. Most of all, I'm so excited by what this means for all the teachers and families who use brightwheel every day."

Cuban and Sacca, both parents themselves, were intrigued by brightwheel's product innovation and rapid growth. "Brightwheel has a great product, is growing like crazy, and makes life easier for teachers and parents," said Cuban. "I just wish I had this when my kids were younger."

"As a dad of three kids under five, I've experienced this problem myself," said Sacca. "So I'm thrilled that brightwheel figured out how to artfully solve an issue for parents all while dramatically improving the lives of hardworking teachers and school administrators. I am proud to be working with Dave and the entire team at Brightwheel."
