Demartek Evaluates QLogic Gen 6 Fibre Channel Adapters

GOLDEN, CO--(Marketwired - May 03, 2016) - Demartek, an independent computer industry analyst firm with its own computer test lab, announces that it has evaluated the QLogic Gen 6 Fibre Channel Adapters (QLE2700 Series) in database workload environments. Gen 6 Fibre Channel runs at 32GFC and includes additional resiliency, provisioning and diagnostic features not found in previous generations of Fibre Channel technology.

"In our OLTP, data warehousing and snapshot replication tests, we found that the QLogic Gen 6 Fibre Channel adapters provide significant performance benefits over the previous generation," said Dennis Martin, Demartek President. "The QLogic QLE2742 Gen 6 Fibre Channel adapter reduced latency by 38% in the OLTP tests, completed the data warehousing workload 1.9 times faster, and reduced database snapshot replication times by 32%. In addition, The QLogic StorFusion™ features reduce the time and effort to deploy and manage an FC infrastructure."
