Marygrove Adds Master in the Art of Teaching & Human Resource Management Summer Cohorts Starting July 3; Still Time to Apply

DETROIT, June 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marygrove College announced today that it will add two new cohorts to its summer graduate programs in Human Resource Management and the Art of Teaching. Classes begin July 3.

“Many of our students are parents and working adults who want to use the summer to ramp up their careers,” said Marygrove College President Elizabeth Burns. “We’re opening up two new summer cohorts to accommodate those students.”

Marygrove’s Master of Arts in Human Resource Management is an online, 36-credit program that prepares human resource specialists for careers in business, government, and not-for-profit organization management. “Our program is unique in that the majority of the courses our students take are selected by them to fit their career aspirations,” said Assistant Professor and Department Chair Jerry van Rossum. “Our curriculum aligns with Society for Human Resource Management standards, which ensures that everything our students learn adheres to the values and standards of the most respected human resource management organization out there.”

Marygrove’s online Master in the Art of Teaching degree is a 10-course, two-year program designed to equip working teachers with practical tools and curriculum-enhancing techniques that they can use right away in their own classrooms. “Our MAT program is a rigorous, reputable, and competitively-priced program built around the needs of working teachers,” said Director of Online Education Dr. Mitali Chaudhery.  Approved by the Michigan State Department of Education, Marygrove’s MAT program features a reading focus, mathematics focus (elementary and middle levels), curriculum, instruction, assessment focus, and an educational technology focus.
