BOSTON, June 20, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Lexia Learning, a Rosetta Stone (NYSE: RST) Company, announced the expansion of Lexia’s RAPID Assessment™ to now support students in grades K–2, in addition to its existing support for students in grades 3–12. Developed in partnership with the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR), RAPID is a computer-adaptive assessment that screens for reading and language skills, identifies instructional needs and focus, and measures skill development and growth.
Lexia’s RAPID Assessment minimizes the amount of time spent testing, while maximizing the data provided to inform classroom instruction and school- or district-wide resource allocation. Based on research conducted by FCRR, RAPID measures the skills most predictive of reading success, and uses adaptive technology to quickly and precisely measure student performance. Administered up to three times a year, RAPID provides immediate access to actionable, norm-referenced data and reports, as well as connections to instructional strategies.

For grades K-2, RAPID assesses foundational skills through both teacher- and student-led tasks, for administration one-on-one or in small groups. For grades 3-12, RAPID assesses complex knowledge, understanding, and application, and is group-administered in a classroom or computer lab.
